Goverment Give Great News for Migrant Workers in the Middle East

The Advisor for Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment, Dr. Asif Nazrul, has given great news for Bangladeshi migrant workers in the Middle East. He announced that within the next two weeks, special lounges will be arranged at airports for Bangladeshi workers currently in the Middle East.

He shared this information during the signing ceremony between the Wage Earners Welfare Board and Malaysia’s PERKESO regarding the expansion of the labor market in Malaysia, held in Dhaka.

Asif Nazrul said, “When our workers are abroad, they represent Bangladesh. Each of them acts as a flag of Bangladesh. It is essential to ensure proper recognition and welfare protection for expatriate workers and their families.”

He added that Malaysia’s Prime Minister has announced they will hire 18,000 workers from Bangladesh. This was misunderstood in some places. We know that more than 17,000 workers were supposed to go to Malaysia by May 31st, but unfortunately, they couldn’t go. The Malaysian government has made arrangements for their travel and has promised to fulfill it. We will try to implement this as soon as possible.

The advisor also mentioned that recruitment agencies for sending workers to Malaysia will be opened, not limited to any syndicate.
